Default Battery

I have an 07 LR3 HSE and have noticed in extreme cold weather, the car is slow to start and I get the Suspension Fault message. If I let it run for 10min and restart the message is gone.

I contacted the LR dealer and he mentioned that the battery may not have enough juice to power the compressor after starting up untill it chargeslittle more.

I was looking at getting an new Optima battery since i've had good experiences with them in the past, but was surprised to be told they didn't sell one that fit.

Can anyone recommend a good quality cold weather battery that they've used that was able to fit in the battery compartment?

The dealer should replace the battery under warranty. I have had a battery replaced because it would go dead if you left the radio on for over an hour. Just tell him you want it replaced and they should be able to make it happen.

speaking of the battery.........I was going to jump start another vehicle the other night, and couldn;t find the battery on my LR.

Granted I'm no kind of mechanic, and only opened the hood once since I've owned my ride, but good Lord they covered it all up.

Guess I need to get aquainted with my motor in the day light.............

interstate makes a replacement battery if you are not under warranty.
the battery is in passenger side up by the firewall and has a cover on it.

The Battery is above the right side wheel well in the engine compartment under a cover. You have to gently pry some tabs and it comes off. There is a similar cover on the left side of the engine compartment, and that is where the brake manifold stuff is. Some have used that compartment to put a compressor for airing up tires. Others have installed a back-up battery.

Do yourself a favor and never jump start another vehicle with your truck, you stand a chance of messing up your charging system and paying lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to repair it.
