Best all around tires in Michigan?
Hi all! I’m looking to replace tires on my 2006 LR3. No off roading. Mostly a mom car running errands and tons of highway driving. Winters can be rough sometimes (I live on a back dirt road that can get tons of snow and I’m always the last road to get plowed) I need a good long lasting all season tire. Any suggestions? And how often should I get them rotated?
Even with your usage, I'd consider an all terrain that has the snowflake rating. It will look the part, and give you some extra insurance in the snow and on your dirt road. I have BFG KO2s in 265/60R18 and they are long wearing and not really a compromise on the highway vs. an all season. My 2c.
I like Nokians - have used them on numerous vehicles and they wear well.As for the Rover repairs (I have a DII), I would recommend both Integrity Imports and Worldwide Auto Service. They seem to know their stuff and get the job done.
If you're on Facebook, there's a Rover group for Michigan and surrounding area (Canada, eh?
) Great Lakes International Land Rover Club. Nice group of people and informative. Christina
For 18" or 19" wheels?
If 18" - I highly recommend my 265/60R18 Falken WildPeak A/T3W (Snowflake AT Tire)
25k miles on them - still look brand new
Ride, wear, noise, dirt, rain, and snow grip - all very good
Would buy again

I've had Nokian Rotiiva ATs (265/60 R18) on my LR3 for 3+ years now here in New England and have had zero issue with any weather we get. Driven it on unpaved roads with well over a foot of snow and felt like a summer's day. No issues stopping, turning, going uphill, etc.
They are a road going AT tire that has the snowflake, and relatively inexpensive, I paid $600 for the set of 4

We've got the Rotiiva's on our LR3 and WRG4 on an LR4 (can you tell I'm a Nokian fan?) Live in Colorado and spend a lot of time in the mountains in some serious snow storms. Both have been fantastic. The Rotiivas are more road oriented whereas the WR is more of a pure snow tire, which will do better on ice than the others. Both will blow away almost any other tire and both have been good on wear, noise, comfort. The WR is a softer tire by design so wearing a little more quickly but rides very soft, also a little squishy if pushed in dry and warmer conditions. Can't go wrong with either for your use case.
