Had no issues with rust on my FR rack. Full length, OZ3 tent fits perfectly front to back. Lots of real estate up there. I make all of the rack mounted brackets for items that go up there as the drop and slide bolts are easy to obtain from local hardware. Even get the eye bolts from the local metric supply store for 1/3 the price..
I made my wind deflector shortly after getting the rack as the little deflectors do nothing for you. FR now has a wind deflector that is identical to the one I made years ago and posted pics of, they make a good copy.
The issue of noise is probably because the bars are perpendicular to the rack and not parallel so the wind catches in the slots. I think they sell a slot filler but you still have slots on the bottom of the rails even using the filler on the top, I never bought the fillers. I just keep the roof vent closed while driving for minimal noise. No noise when under 35 MPH but who goes that slow?

Have you made a decision about your Roof Rack for the LR3? Having the same problem, brainstorming between the Front Runner or Rhino with backbone.

I love the Gobi and the look of it is par none imho. It’s all personal preference and having patience for sure. Gobi takes forever and when you can speak with someone their customer service is very good despite what some say. I do not understand the time issues but I also do not know their set up, layout and procedures so. One good thing is when you place an order they do not charge you until it has shipped so it’s not like you are just giving some one money and waiting for a year. However once they call you to go over the order you it is set you will be responsible for a fee of some kind if you do cancel down the road once they have started the process of building your rack.

Looks great! How long did it take from order to delivery?

I’m pretty sure it was around the 7 months mark. Thanks by the way. I enjoy it. I did have to make some calls to them though because the quoted time was off pretty good but this was during some of the pandemic bs too. They did hook me up with all kinds of accessories to accommodate me for it. Outside the wait I can’t say really anything bad.
