Default BF Goodrich MT KM2's

I've searched through the threads and haven't found any mention of them. Is anyone running BFG MT KM2's? IF so, which size 305/60 or 285/70? What mods to get them to fit?
Thanks

What size wheels? I think ZGPhoto runs them on his DII. Most common size it 265/75R16. You can pick up a set of KM2s in that size. They're a great tread, and I imagine they'd be fantastic on a DII.
And they'd work great with a 2 inch lift. That's all you'd need.

So it's possible to run a smaller wheel than the factory 18? I know there are many more tire options below 18"

The DII came with either 18s or 16s. It's pretty easy to find a set of factory wheels on ebay. Or you could pick up a set of steel wheels from Lucky8.

Default Wheels

I've done some research and planning to run Jeep 17" wheels (5 on 4.5) Going to run 265/70R17's. I'm wondering what offset the standard LR wheel has. I'm concerned about going too wide. Any input?

The factory LR wheels are what I think they call zero offset. Or negative offset. I can't remember. Basically, the hub and spokes of the wheels aren't sunken back from the outer edges, they're flush with the outside sidewall of the tire. Take a look at some of the pics in my album and you'll see what I'm on about.
If the Jeep wheels sink the hub back into the wheel, that means it's shifting the tires outwards, away from the vehicle. Sort of like adding wheel spacers. If that's the case, then you won't have any problems.
Sorry, I hope that's not confusing.

i wouldnt go more than 1/2 inch offset ur gonna tear stuff up and u wont get all the travel u want if u go bigger...youll end up tearing ur fenders off take it from me, iv done it many many times w/ my 1' offsets. truthfully maybe even a 1/4 to b more on the safe side.

I'm not sure that the BFG MT 285/70/18 will fit. Those are almost a true 33x12.5. I may try fitting some anyway, depending on what I can work out with my local tire guy. Most likely I'll use the AT 285/65/18. They are about 32x11. As many sets of BFG's as I've owned over the years I should get a free set. I am definately going to use the Black Rock 910 in 18x8.5. They have a 30mm offset. 6" backspace. Only weigh about 23#

Default A little help with wheel/tire choice.....

I've read a lot of useful information on the pitfalls of wheel and tire combinations, so hopefully this is a good thread on which to get a little advice.

My LR3 HSE has stock 19" rims with the Goodyear Wrangler HP 255/55R19 tires. I can certainly live with these as an every day combination, but perhaps moving to more of an AT tire when they are due for replacement.

Alternatively, I was considering a second set of rims for a winter/off-road tire combo, and then putting a true set of 'soccer-mom' tires on the 19"ers. I have ambitions to do some more off-road driving (modest rather than terrifying) and spend about 2 weeks a year in the mountains for ski season, so I don't know if this is completely necessary.

1) If it's as simple as putting better AT tires on the 19's, then what do I go with that stays within the OEM specs
2) If a winter/off-road set promises more fun and enjoyment of the vehicle, then can I use an old set of DII 16" rims and what tire options does this present to me
