Good day to everyone. I purchase a Chinese multimedia radio for my 2008 LR3 Discovery HSE. The main issue I have is my radio will not play upon startup. The vehicle must run for at least 1 hour before I can hear any sound.

please provide any suggestions to resolve this issue. Thank you.

First of all, can you show a picture from a distance and show us how you installed that into the central bezel?

Also, what cables were used to install it into the MOST system?

The second answer is this, " it was a interface kit that came with the unit its supposed to be plug and play and it came either a fiber optic bypass cable with is connected."

maybe it takes an hour to boot up all of that big mishmash of CPU's?

If it were me I'd see if I could power just the unit while turning off the ignition and seeing if still takes an hour to come back on.
And then I would send it back.

 

I would be interested in what vehicle the "seller" had this device installed in.

I noticed on the "smart pad" like device that it has climate controls. That would mean in my best guess that the unit supports something called iDatalink Maestro.

From my understanding the MOST system in the LR3 does not support that, but I could be wrong.

Maybe the internal systems of that unit are looking for the LR3 components that are not compatible with the iDatalink Maestro and are causing the unit to time out or something?

Would love to find out how you mounted that unit into the center dash of a LR3.

 

I agree with Gnomadf. This seems to be basically a iPad wanna be slapped into a vehicle. Find a way to boot it without installed into the truck and see how long it takes to load.

I've seen a lot of knock off "iPad looking" units on sale on various sites trying to mimic what Tesla has in their vehicles saying to "upgrade your interior look" of your car simply.

I have a few pro car audio shops in my area that say they are all gimmicks and hate when customers drive in with them.

Sorry to say, but would be very interested to see if how you get this unit to work. I will try to be helpful with a little more information.

By chance, can you tell us the make and model of the unit you are trying to get to work?

 

My apologies to Apple for saying "iPad". This is definitely a android based tablet.

 

That type of unit comes with a replacement dash panel as thats the only way it will fit, i think it also does away with some fo the control units below the factory head unit replacing them with digital controls which i dont think are compatible with a D3.
