Default Clank when reversing and going forward

Just wondering where to look next. I have a 2006 LR3. I'm getting a clank when reversing straight out of a parking spot and hitting the brakes. I have new front upper and lower control arms...front diff..front brake pads. I crawled under and visually inspected everything that has been replaced. It sounds like the noise is coming from the front.

Check your front/back axle nuts too...

Improperly torqued or someone forgot to bend the tab.

I recently had both diffs, drive shafts, control arms all replaced. Bearing should be good, but I'll still check. You never know haha.

Thanks, I'll check the torque later today. The drivers side nut "tab" is bent, but passenger side has crown nut with no tabs.

Picture of said passenger nut. Castle nut? or, a nut from Crown Automotive?

there's no true tab, just tap/bend side of nut. Obviously re-torque it first.

I was "picking up what you were putting down" on the tab.

Dealer called it a crown nut....looks like a castle nut to me.

That"s wrong nut.

Rovers north uses this...Is this what you have?

Go on Roverparts dot com, or local dealer pickup proper nut.

How are they locking it in-place?

Old style ,early half shafts for LR3 need stake nuts whereas new half shafts don't.It is a different design. When I was ordering a driver's side on mine, I specifically requested an old style half shaft as I wanted to be consistent with parts, also had 4 stake nuts laying around as spares back then lol.
