Yeah but a gallon of coolant isn't what that's meant for... I think we all know what a dipstick looks like when a head gasket is blown, coolant doesn't evaporate and exit through the PCV or breather valve.
I can't find a source but coolant clearly bonds with oil in some inseparable way otherwise coolant in the engine would exit right? I mean I'm no expert that's just my experience,

Oh? Perhaps you should define what the difference is in an open system relative to a closed system.
Yes, I realize an engine isn't a closed system in that nothing ever gets in or out ever, in that case we wouldn't be able to change the oil. It is a closed system in the mechanical sense such that no oil is allowed to burn or escape.
