Default Cost to Register

We share a lot of mechanical data with our LR3s, but I'm curious about your registration this year. What are you paying?

Mine: 2008 Colorado $305.00 (06/03/2015 Edit 301.35)

06/03/2015 Edit
LIC FEE 92.07
OWN TAX 184.28
CLS FEE 25.00

Yours?

Sorry - Registration cost? or taxes? or both? or ... are you asking what it'll cost me to drive it this year, for the honor of doing so before fuel or parts or anything else?

Both. Seems like a good answer to a question potential buyers haven't asked yet.

$65.25 annually in TX. I think they get you for sales tax based on fair market value if you register from out of state, I could be wrong. I know I had to pay sales tax on a boat, I brought from back east and had owned for 10 years.

For my truck, the registration fees and sales taxes were paid when I registered, It came to just over $1000 -- but I was paying tax on what I paid for it, not book value since I found it at a dealership. I'll see if I still have that DMV receipt. Reg I think was around $130 for 2yrs after all the fees.

Where I live, vehicle registration is based on the weight of the vehicle, unless you add extras like personalized plates or something. I think it was $32.50 or something last time. We pay personal property taxes separately, based on the value they assign the vehicle, but they are usually pretty good about working with you if you think they are way out of line, for example when I buy a parts car or a project they will sometimes give me a 50% value or base the taxes on what I paid, not what KBB shows. I'm not sure what it is exactly, because it's one bill for everything you owe, and I've always had more than one vehicle in recent years.

In TX, it doesn't matter what you paid, they use a book value, and that is what it is.
