Cost to replace heater core
As is with the case for all auto repairs, the quoted price for services can vary widely. The parts prices can vary a bunch, too.
Case in point:
Checking around for a "new" heater core part for my LR3, a "genuine" LR part is around $450. Of course, LR didn't make that part - they just stamped their name on it. So I bought one with a Eurospare badge on it for $83 delivered.
As for labor, the prices ranged from $504 to over $1800.
I'm going with the $504 one. It's a one-man shop, and he said "I do heater cores all the time, but you'll have to leave it with me a few days because I don't want to rush it." Fine by me!
