I've been troubleshooting a misfire on Cylinder 8 and just discovered somewhere I got the WRONG cylinder numbering info. Sharing this so you don't have the same futility that I've been subjected to.
Primarily, for the purposes of fault codes, Cylinder 1 is on the passengers side closest to the bumper. It then alternatives left-right and front to back so that the cylinder 8 is closest to the drivers side (left-hand drive vehicles).
