This roof leak on Passenger side has happened twice..once "repaired" under warranty (we bought it Certified two year old from LR dealer in 2008..In those days
the $48k+ 2006 LR3SE could be bought for $26k two years later Certified.)
..and the other time replaced Hose at Dealer as Mechanic was worried about dropping Roof Liner and getting it back on right so he said
go to Dealer. I hate hearing those words. Thats the Hose in there now.
I saw a video on YouTube and guy said he thought we maybe had a clog in this case
So wife and I pulled that side Air Intake off as he showed in video..End/Exit Nipple looked intact..cleaned openings in corners of skylight..

spayed some air..stuck a soft plastic thing down there(Flag Mosquito guy leaves in lawn was perfect for the job)
and water flowed good right out.
A Good day of rain and thank God no leak..now can we afford the new Tires.

This is a very easy fix for a DIY'er on the Driver Side, the passenger side is a real PITA though and I do not recommend doing the passenger side yourself unless you are really comfortable with removing the glove compartment and fuse block behind the glove compartment. And on top of that, your going to need REALLY small hands to get that fuse block back in after you replace the nipple.

Drain fix parts from NAPA and Ace Hardware

Thanks for all the info you guys provide. It has been raining a ton. I decided to take your advise and check the foot wells. Sure enough both sides are wet. Since I’m 150 miles from the nearest LR store I decided to see what I could find to fix the corroded tube ends locally. I found that a 1/2” ID grommet with a 5/8” groove fit the hole perfectly. I then used a piece of 1/2” heater hose and a 90 degree plastic barb to connect it. The barb was a snug fit though the grommet. The tube was also a snug fit in the heater hose.

Seems you did a proper hack job! It nice you have an elbow that is pretty close to the ID of the drain tube itself. Some stick an elbow INSIDE the drain tube, that creates a restriction point. While the factory updated drains have an elbow too, its very thin. Not thick like those hardware buys are. Well done!

Anyone know how to unclip the harness at the bottom of the cjb? I have no power to my nav or
Radio after a rain storm. Floor soaked. I’ll spare what I’ve already done to get me to this fishing expedition… but it’s the last
thing to try before I take her off a ravine.

Have you removed the two nuts holding the CJB in place? I never did this myself, but I guess it give you some more wiggle room to play with.

mirepoixmatt 01-02-2022 03:33 PM

Yes. Nuts are off. 3 harnesses on front are off. One at the bottom
- is puzzling I don’t see anything to push/compress.

The lower one I thought was just a small push tab in the middle, probably on the back-side of the connector. Crap pic, but you can see the indent a little. I think you push on that as you pull down.

Thank you. I got it. It’s a very unsatisfying harness. But it came off. Not that this helped me at all:) getting this box out seems impossible.

I pulled the CJB, only removing the front 3 connectors to replace the sunroof drain.

After reinstalling, received a number of warning lights: Fuel Low - w/center indicator @ "0"; All Doors Open when actually closed - and now will not lock - and Suspension will not change; Brake Pads Low Indicator.

Main warning seem unrelated, but looking for feedback on whether they are linked to connections on the CJB? If so, which wires or connectors would be associated?

Thanks!
