Disco3 Fitted Sat Nav.

Disco3 Fitted Sat Nav.
Having recently bought a new Discovery 3 XS, I have to say I am very disappointed with the sattelite navigation system. Although the car was delivered without a sat nav explanation booklet, which the dealer is now rodering from me; I feel I know enough about these systems to get up and running from day one.
However, I have found the fitted equipment is close to being useless. Living on the coast of Mid Wales, the only way I can plot a direct route is by entering several waypoints along a route calculated from a map. Cartain local destinations persist in taking me on a route close on to double the shortest distance, and even on a trip of 38 miles, which is calculated along roads that would take me close on to 60 miles, it is not until I am within 5 miles or so of my destination, does the navigator recognise my route and produce the correct results.
The most classic route I have tried to enter is from Tywyn (north of Aberystwyth ) to Cardiff, a journey of 122 miles, which takes you through Machynlleth, Rhayader, Builth Wells, Brecon and Merthyr; but the Sat Nav takes you into Birmingham, down the M5, and over the Severn Bridge and down the M4. That route would virtually double the journey mileage and time. As a temporary measure I have also installed the Tom Tom from my previous car, and at a cost of only 10 % of the L.R. system it is faultless.
Any other Landrover Owners willing to offer comments or advice please.

According to my computer this is the LR3 section. Must also comment that so far have not been very impressed with the responses received to this problem.#
Went to Cardiff yesterday, and if the sat nav had not been a fitted unit, I would have ripped it out and thrown it through the bloody window. Rubbish such as this will get Landrover a bad name
