Default Does it Fit? Rear Tire Carrier with Bike Rack

Hey Everyone, I'm looking for advice from anyone that uses a hitch mounted bike carrier similar to mine (a Thule T2 Pro) on any style of LR3 or LR4 hitch, in combination with a rear tire carrier like the TerraFirma or Tactical 4x4 models. I'm thinking about getting a rear tire carrier sometime soon, but don't want it to get in the way of hauling my mountain bikes.

Thanks!
Evan

Cant confirm fit or not - but I say just try it
Then if you need more clearance, just buy a hitch extension
They come in various lengths (7"-12") and cost $30 or less

That's funny, I was having the same thought today. I also have the T2 rack and am looking at spare tire carriers.
My guess is that the bike closest to the vehicle has to mount handlebar on driver side. My concern is if you can fold the T2 up and have clearance to the spare tire. If it wasn't snowing I would go measure the gap.
Knowing the gap measurement, you could ask the vendor.
Let us know what you find out.

Doug, yeah I had thought about the possibility of using extensions, but the T2 has a handy anti-wobble and locking feature built in and it sure would be nice to be able to use it directly in the receiver instead of having to worry about a secondary lock and anti-wobble feature for the extension (in all fairness, I DO have an extension with it's own lock and anti-wobble bracket on my other car).

COBlue, you make a good point that clearance when folded up might actually be more critical than clearance when loaded with a bike.

I guess I'll just have to do my own experimentation... was just hoping that someone maybe already does it and had a photo of their setup handy.

Thanks!

You can also get a spare tire bike carrier.
