eBay key stopped working, battery shows 3.3v
Is there ever a need to re-pair a key fob to a vehicle?
They should never get dropped right? eBay key has worked for I think 2 yrs now just fine.
It even has a Maxell Rechargeable inside!
So last week it just stopped locking/unlocking. Still works in the ignition.
Battery shows 3.3v but I don't know if it is just not sending a signal anymore?
Can IIDtool check this - whether a key is "talking" to a vehicle? OEM fob still functions fine.
Maybe its just not worth any detective work - I could just swap the 14yr old OEM key board to the eBay shell using the new Maxell battery.
And just get a new eBay key again. Cheap enough.
Guess I just answered my own post haha

Can I piggyback a 2nd 3v battery (parallel) to test this w/o damaging the potentially already damaged circuitry?
edit: Probably not a good idea - I suppose the $15 I spent on the fob was cheap for 2yr use - rinse and repeat
