Ebay snorkel, raised air intake
I know there w a s a thread but i just did this, sorry no pics, i used the landrover instructions found online
Ebay 170 shipped, looks same as factory, comes with brackets for lr3 or lr4
Comes with srainless hardware and rivet nuts
I have a rivet nut tool from hf it cames with sae nuts, so you need to buy 1/4-20 stainless allen head bolts, ge t 3" for the long ones
I was able to find the short button head allen for the top mount in lowes its like 1"?
With the rover instructions its straight forward, only issue is that the holes in the top mount bracket are too close to get bolts into the top of snorkel, i just went up a size with a unibit
The other issue is they bent the mount tab in the wrong direction for top of the a pillar
I ended up bending it the other direction, removed pillar cover drilled the hole in pillar added riv nut
Drilled hole in the pillar cover next size larger on the unibit than the spacer required ,makes it easier to line up the bolt
Next reinstal pillar cover and spacer, bracket and bolt
Then put the snorkel into the bracket and onto fender, start bolts in fender
Then start and tighen bolts on upper bracket, this may require bending and prying the bracket into the right spot
After the upper bolts are tight I ended up using a ball pien hammer and brass drift to finalize the adjustments to that bracket so it sits flat on the snorkel
If i had a vise to properly rebend that bracket this would probably been a little easier
Make sure you pre fit everything, these bolts. All have to go in exactly straight
The holes for the fender bolts were not drilled through the snorkel not a big deal
This is in no way a snorkel, just a raised air intake, i see how i can make it a snorkel but for now its just for looks
The rover factory one also is not a snorkel out of box
You would need to do some disasembly on the vehicle and put pipe from the rubber boot at the fender to the air filter box and seal it all up
They include 2 giant hose clamps no idea why unless it's for that reason
Sorry i did not do a build thread just wanted it done

You cant tighten the screw into the top of the pillar with the snorkel installed
The plastic seems same as on my d1 chicom snorkel and thats held up just fine in the sun, snow, ice and wheeling for many years now
