Default eBrake - To use or not to use?

I've read some conflicting information. Should I use the ebrake every now and then, or should I never touch it?

To be honest, I never really need it. Only worried about causing problems from lack of use and wondering if I should pop it on and off every once and a while.

Safe bet is test everything once a week.

I use the parking brake every day. I'd rather it go out from use than jam shut from not being used.

I use it when the vehicle would otherwise roll, so slight hills. I also apply it and THEN shift into Neutral, take my foot off the brake to shift the weight onto the EPB (and not the transmission pawl) and then put the vehicle in Park.

I do the same. Glad I'm not the only neurotic one...

Nope...I'm neurotic to the bone!

I tend to do this tap dance on all my cars now.

Good tip and will attempt remembering to do this on my "normal" D2. Thanks.

You bet.

This was something us early-adapters were instructed to do...and the art has been lost over the years.

I use it every time it snows to get slidy. I just wish I could turn off TC to continue the slide. IMO that was a design flaw, not giving us the choice to turn it off.
