Default Engine Management Fault :/

Gents. My lr3 with 240k miles seemingly lost power the other day and went into what I believe was limp mode. I have had her for 210k miles and this has never happened. I actually thought I had run of gas because there was no throttle response.

my codes are P2013 - throttle body control motor - circuit high and
P2015 - throttle actuator control system.

normal routine here.
checked battery. She’s okay (although my multimeter was showing north of 15v when she was running which seems way too high ?)
- cleaned MAF and throttle body.
- hard reset.
- cleared codes.
- said two prayers.

nada. Starts fine but she won’t go higher than 1500 RPMS.

Am I putting a throttle body on her as my next step ?

If a new throttle body includes whatever actuator/motor controls it, then yeah...I think.

I recall a way to force calibrate the pedal and throttle body. Or I am thinking of my other car. It should do it normally as part of the startup sequence. Try turning the key to II and wait a few seconds before you start it.
I will re-read and see where I saw this procedure. (even if it turns out to be on my gen 1 Mini Cooper)

Jeff

OR....

Turn ignition switch “ON” and wait at least 2 seconds.
Turn ignition switch “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds.
Turn ignition switch “ON” and wait at least 2 seconds.
Turn ignition switch “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds.

OR ( and this one was for my Mini Cooper)

1. Get in your car, it doesn't matter if you close the door or not.
2. Turn the key to the on (not start) position, the position just before the starter turns over. BMW: press start button – foot off brake - all idiot lights on.
3. Press the gas pedal to the floor with the key in the "on" position. BMW: All idiot lights on.
4. Hold the pedal to the floor for five seconds, then turn the key back to the "off position". BMW: foot off brake press start button - all idiot lights now off (don't remove the key), then release the gas pedal.
5. Wait a full 2 minutes for a full electronic alignment. Don't remove the key.
6. Start engine, drive the car, notice the difference.

Standard Disclaimer: I might be wrong.

Jeff

Just an update on this. I bought a throttle body on the eBay and thru her in tonight. “Engine Fault” went by bye and car is accelerating and running as it was before it acted up. Success!

* I’d didn’t do any remapping or resetting procedures. Just installed and off I went.
