Default Engine Mounts

I hear a clunk coming from the engine bay every time I hit a bump. I’m pretty sure it is the passenger side engine mount. Has anyone ever replaced one of these? I know with the discovery II it’s easy to do with a floor jack underneath the engine. Thanks in advance.

Bump! I am also in need or both side Engine AND transmission mounts due to a small bump to a truck rear end accident. No damage to frame or anything just the plastics on the bumper but totally snapped the old rubber engine and tranny mounts moving the whole engine an tranny at least 1 -1/2 inches forward. SMDH

I just checked and those are the correct JLR procedures. They suggest you remove a lot of components in the wheel wells for access.

Why in the world would you remove the ball joint to remove the Engine mount . The Rave makes no reference to this

I thought RAVE only extended into DII. From LR3 and on they switched to TOPIX, which is what I provided. I’ve not changed engine mounts, so perhaps it’s not necessary, but the sides of the engine bay are pretty tight.

I’d probably first attempt changing them from the bottom as shown in your manual, but wouldn’t be surprised if going in from the side was easier in the end.

Please report back on how you accomplished it, I’ve wondered about this procedure myself.

i just did this in my LR4
it didn’t seem like popping the ball joint would’ve helped at all. I had to lower the front diff to pull the part out of the tight space.
