Default Allmakes Engine Mounts

When torquing down my new Allmakes engine mounts I noticed the rubber compressing. This must mean the threaded rod runs through the whole mount. Is it just me or does this not seem right? My previous mounts were only rubber in the middle with threads coming out of the metal discs on each side.

The threaded rod shouldn't run all the way through.
If want a more heavy duty option without going to a solid mount, try the mounts for a Jag V12. I can get the part number later. They have a larger diameter though and only work for the engine mounts, they won't fit on the transfercase/transmission.

Thanks, I'm going to try them out for now. Those V12 mounts sound great though. I'd like to upgrade to something better in the near future.

I got them from RockAuto.com Search for a JAGUAR, 1978, V12, Engine, Motor Mount. They have them for about $15 each. They measure just a bit over 3.5" diameter and just a hair under 1.5" thick.

That is a good looking piece there.
