Default Ethanol Free Gas

Has anyone been using Ethanol free gas and seen significant difference in performance and mileage?

There are only 2 places where I am, each about 12 miles from me, so I'm not sure how consistently I can fill up and log any changes, but I'd be interested in hearing if someone else has seen significant changes.

I have seen a big difference in my 'other car' with non-ethanol gas so I would guess it would do better. But then I am comparing my 2009 smart to my 1998 D1 so it is not exactly apples to apples. Way more computerized crap on the smart...

smart...? as in the small 2-seater? the DI must feel like an rv in comparison.

but you're still seeing a difference? hmm...i'm going to try E0 for the next 4 fill-ups and see what's what. might as well try it on my prius, as well.

Actually I ended up getting an Astro van (AWD of course) for hauling the tribe around as the D1 was a bit cramped for us.. Been thinking about mounting the smart behind the Disco like a life boat... I use the smart for the daily commute to work and back, the wife claimed the Disco, and my son with the child (and girlfriend) usually steals the Astro. I am allowed to provide fuel and repairs...

The smart also liles premium fuel similar to the D1and I have found going with the lower octane rated stuff also cuts into gas mileage (on both vehicles)

just for comparison..

Hard to drive a smart and not be able to laugh. too many people stare and make jokes about it, but I still have a bigger laugh when I get 45 mpg....

On a recent trip home running at about 72-75mph down the interstate, I had the opportunity to fuel up with non-ethanol gas when passing thru Mississippi and Louisiana. I track each fuel up with an app and the non-ethanol fuel returned about 2 mpg better mileage than the "up to 10% ethanol" fuel. Saw the differences both going and coming.

I get it when traveling as it's not available here. The performance increase is instant and unmistakeable, the mileage is mildly better.

i was able to swing around the city and get a fill up at one of the stations offering E0.

already started seeing the difference in my 30 mile drive back home.

i didn't even think about the prius on E0, and i just filled that one up day before. now i'll have to wait 2 weeks before i can fill up. 40-50mpg...this tank is going to go for a while. nice problem to have, right?

I laugh but only because I can't figure out how people fit in them, or they are awesome yoga practitioners. I'd strain something for sure making an attempt to get in, or I'd hit my head.

You're so generous...fuel and repairs

My kiddo thought the Prius was the ugliest thing he ever saw, then I showed him the hv battery charging graphics and how much gas we use per trip (short hops or long road trips). Now, it's the coolest car on the planet.

He's 10...he's easy to impress.
