First 2007 LR3
Today my wife and I finally picked up our 2007 LR3 HSE with only 49k. It's Dark grey with "A cooler in the center counsel" says my wife. We've been waiting weeks for this. I love to research, but I don't know where to start. I have a few questions.
What should I fix/be prepared to fix?
Is there anything I can do as far as preventative maintenance?
I am going to purchase an extended warranty, but who offers the best one?
Also, we live on a fairly safe yet busy street, and our alarm has gone of three times on the first night. I don't release my dogs anymore, cause I don't think it's a person, but I can't seem to find any open doors or anything else. Weird.
Thank you for any advice.

Here is the maintenance schedule. For anything that has an "arduous" schedule, use that. If there is not arduous schedule, cut the factory "written by ad weasels" list by 50%. Don't wait 150,000 miles to change your differential oil, etc.
A common problem is battery going weak, your truck is a like a computer server rack with wheels. Needs a tip top battery.

Wear items like control arm bushings and stuff will eventually wear out, if not already.
Sometime during ownership, the suspension compressor will likely die. Its expensive to replace, but compressors supplied by LR are updated (different manufacturer) and will probably last much longer (in conjunction with software update).
Otherwise, mostly odds and ends. Did a thermostat two weeks ago and a brake switch today.
As for extended warranty, there are very few that I like. Factory extended warranties are usually best, but you usually have to buy from dealer and vehicle must be certified to qualify.

As for your alarm. I had the same problem and was able to solve that problem thanks to this forum. There is a hood (bonnet) switch that is a common problem. Search hood switch or alarm goes off randomly and you will find a thread with step by step instructions and a part #. I ordered mine from ebay for about $15.00 and it took about 10 minutes to change it.
