Default First Time Land Rover owner..what have i DONE!

Hi all, Im not sure of the etiquette here but i'd like to just post a little about my purchase and throw this out to have the experience of you all throw some advice my way.
Purchased 2006 LR3 Off ebay (no dealers here in springfield, mo and wifey always wanted one)
I 'knew' what i was getting in to.
Day one - whiney grinding sound from front end. Needs a New differential
Day two - winshield washer fluid everywhere (needs a new reservoir)
Day three - low coolant (not low but needs new reservoir due to bad sensor)
Day four - 0128 code (needs new thermostat) and 0783 (3/4 shift) and 0171/0174 Lean.

I am a former Aircraft mechanic turned musician, turned 9-5 office job dude-
so i am going to prob do most of the basic stuff myself.
If anyone has had experience with these codes could you throw your ideas my way other than trying to find a shop here that will charge high rates.

The odd thing is- this car looks sweet- and my wife loves it. But im driving it until her kinks are worked out *i guess this means I'll be driving it alot LOL!*
Thanks all for reading- and thanks in advance for any input
micky

Welcome. You "knew" all those things were wrong when you bought off eBay? Hope you didn't overpay.

Here's where to get a diff: Land Rover Differential - Centurion Differential

No . It wasn't disclosed- but the car seems like it was garaged and taken care of. Lots of lessons learned on this one. But I'm going to try to be optimistic and put some money in it and ride in style- til the next issue
I just need to get these initial things worked on.

Is it me or does the LR tire not exactly match? If it is different make sure the LR Tire is the same size as the other 3. Good way to destroy a diff right there on an AWD vehicle with mismatch tires.

I'd never buy a vehicle off of Ebay myself, but with any new "used" car it is always expected that you'll have to repair the stuff the previous owner bailed on or failed to do while owning it.

No they all match, they are about 50%. Kumho. We purchased a Volvo from eBay before and did well on it, but after this experience, I'll go see the car. Lesson learned. But it drives and looks good and I should be able to get the minor things fixed myself and just go on the hunt for a salvage diff. Not paying $1300 for a rebuilt one as I see online

That's good. I had bought a 94 RRC back in the day that was in mint condition minus the fact all 4 tires were different sizes. I immediately replaced the tires, but I eventually had to replace the viscous coupling unit.

Like I said earlier with all used cars you have to fix the stuff the previous owner didn't. I had several items on my LR3 that needed attention, but after that it's been a great LR.
