Old ones were OEM, I can't imagine they're expected to last as long as they did. There was a large tear on the top end. Had a freeze a few days ago so that was probably the last straw for the old boot. It also wasn't seated correctly due to a failed retaining clip. Explains the odd drop of oil on the drive I had seen the past few days. Everything's back together and running smoothly now anyways.
We'll see how long they last. They may outlive the trucks practical usefulness or I may get 10,000 miles out of them. Should the engine or transmission fail I'll probably park it in the yard and throw money at OEM parts for a restoration and rebuild of the major components but until then I'm just nursing it along.
