Question General Squeaking?

So, I don't know if I'm alone here, but when I take my LR3 out for rides, I go over bumps and it sounds like I'm driving a Uhaul rental. Just squeak city. Thing looks like a million bucks but sounds like an old ****box. What can I spray some WD-40 on in the undercarriage for this? Do I need to re-grease anything? Any thoughts or similar experiences?

Thanks all!

This used to happen with mine. I tried lubing up bushings and other areas. It may have helped a little but not really. Then after a few rainy days it sort of just all went away by itself. That was a few years ago. I wish I could remember the chronology of events and details better.

I'm sure others will chime in with their own experiences soon enough...

Squeaks are very annoying to me.

Short of getting under it and hosing it down carefully, here are a few other ideas.

I would suggest that if it is happening during light bumps ie: suspension struts working to check your upper lower arms.

The next thing to check would be your ARB bushings.. Anti-Roll Bar bushings..

do not use wd-40 on rubber bushings it will eat them up, bushing are made to be greased not oiled

When you say "check," what does that mean? Like, what would I be looking for?

Also, for those of you needing to get under your LR, are you using a set of ramps or jack stands?

Thanks! Appreciate everyone's input.

I've been using these - I've had it up about 5 times so far so no long term report but they work.

I hate squeaks too, though I am in a Disco II. I noticed some squeaks recently and checked my bushings, etc. No joy. Unrelated, I replaced my ball joints. Squeaks disappeared and truck drove like it used to.

Re: Jacks and Jack Stands. Is 3-ton going to do it? Or should I be conservative and go for a 6-ton?

Go big or go home. These are heavy trucks.

OK. So here's a new one, it is now a "chirp" rather than squeak.

Symptoms:

1. From stoplight, foot on the brake, I release the brake and roll forward, "chirp......chirp....chirp...chirp..chirp chirp chirp" the chirp is directly tied to wheel revolutions and then goes away over 40 mph.

2. Seems like the chirp is coming from the front end.

3. Chirp IMMEDIATELY goes away when the brake is applied.

Thoughts? Bought some Rhino ramps at O'Reilly's today.
