So I have had this problem with my AC. I have taken to multiple shops including an shop foreman for LR. I have replaced the AC compressor, expansion valve, and condenser / dryer. I am still having the problem with my AC working just fine until left out in the hot sun for an hour or so then when I get back in the AC won't work until I hit the Freeway for a few minutes. The High side pressure when not working goes to 450 and low is 48. What else could this be? Bad Fan or sensor?

I assume all your fans are working since so many people have looked at it. If all normal things to check are functioning properly, then you have too much oil in the system and in the compressor.

Does the pressure switch have any control over fan speed. I am thinking the fan doesn't speed up to cool the condenser enough when the pressure rises in the heat.

No. If you think condenser temp is the problem(it's not), spray a garden hose on the condenser coils while its running and watch the pressures. Report back what you see.

It gets more interesting. Today on the freeway it stopped working so I turned it off for a minute then it started working again. LR3 has a mind of its own sometimes. Didn't have a chance to spay the condenser with water when it stopped working as suggested in an above post. I'm sure it will do this again. How do I tell how much oil is in the system? Do I have to pull the compressor to do this? Also if I do replace the ac pressure switch do I have to recover the refrigerant or does it have a valve to allow removal?

Update: AC compressor is dead, internal regulator when bad. This is the second AC compressor since August 14. What the heck is going on to cause the Compressor to go bad?
