Question Help lr3 2008 replaced coolant housing still overheating no heat coolant boiling

Trying to post isn't working yet
2008 Land Rover lr3 V8 was leaking coolant for a few months bought a new thermostat housing just replaced it on the side of the road cuz it was overheating I had a crack in it.. then took it for a ride down the street didn't know you had to bleed it ended up breaking the coolant bleed screw that shaped like a t. So put that on and plead the whole system a few times but the heat was not working it would only blow cool air out. Took it for a ride was going fine until you go about 50 or fast the temperature gauge went right up into the red pulled over open the hood the coolant was boiling so we waited till it cool down to get it back home drove a little while went back up into the red. The last time it wouldn't start waited a few hours and went back to drive it home slowly. Not sure what the problem is now would appreciate any feedback or anyone's had any of the same issues..

Had a similar issue. PO had let the thing overheat, (was not forthcoming about it) he replaced thermostat and I replaced coolant bottle cap cause it leaked, then bottle. It was fine as long as I did not go far. Tried for a long trip thinking it was all good. Went into the red too. He had heated it so much the heads warped. It was a clue when the heater blew cold air. Had to have the heads milled, cost $7200 at dealer + cost of hauling it to them. Works great now.
Have it checked out by someone that knows the engine. Might be a serious issue like mine.

two issues here

>you overheated it, not sure how much, but it isn't likely to be good.
>you did not bleed it correctly, especially if you didn't get heat.

Take it to an actual shop now. Don't drive it.

NO. Take it to a qualified mechanic and have it checked for blown head gasket and warped heads.

You had your chance. You didn't do it right and you risk more damage doing it again.
