High beam / turn signal problem
I'm new to the forum, just bought an '05 LR3 HSE with 56k miles. Everything seems to work fine except for one issue (that I didn't notice until I got home with it). I've done a lot of searching through old threads today, but haven't had any luck finding anything.
Here is the issue. My high beams will flash when the lever is pulled back but when I push the lever forward to keep them on nothing happens. If I apply a little more forward pressure they'll come on for a moment and the turn off again. The really weird thing though, is when I activate the right turn signal the high beams come on, unless the high beam lever is pushed forward then the turn signal operates like normal with no high beams.
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you have a short somewhere in the wiring harness. First place I would investigate would be to remove the headlight and carefully inspect the wiring harness down the harness from the headlights. You could also switch the two from each corner to see if the problem switches sides, this would be an indicator of a problem with the headlight itself. There's a fellow parting out a 3 on here, so possibility would be good in getting a used replacement if you need it.
Could also be a problem with the switch, but haven't heard of that much.

Silly question but I assume you mean the actual headlights; that is the two HIDs and the two halogen units and that you have determined their misoperation by parking in front of a reflective glass storefront window?
I say this as do not assume that the blue indicator light always reflects what the high beams are doing.
If it is the hi beams that are acting up, I am inclined to think the problem is the lever switch - well that would be a lot easier to fix than a wiring problem.

This is an interesting thread re the headlight switch and circuit.
The problem turned out to be a defective new HID bulb and the solution putting back the removed bulb. You just might try removing the main beam bulbs one at a time to see if the problem disappears for the moment.
In the UK and EU, high beams are called main beams for when you are doing forum searches.
