HSE rear view mirror upgrade

The mirror is not what has the rain or the light sensors(for autolights) in it, that is separate, but can also be added if you have the wiring there. Also, your auto-light switch will have front fog lights on it, which you won't have if you have the base mirror, and this may cause issues turning on the rear fog lights.
The mount does not go in the same position, it need to be higher on the glass than the base mirror sits, which might cause issues if your glass has the dots above/behind the mirror.

I confirmed that both 05' SE models have the home link mirror connector(white/3 wire) and the auto headlight connector(black/4 wire).
I got a mirror and it came with the auto headlight photo module.
But, yes, I do have the dots that will be in the way of the sensor.
Thanks for the heads up in the mount placement. I used a torch to remove the mount in my parts car as a test, just heat up the back of the metal and wait for a crackling sound(1-2 minutes), then push the connector off into a wet towel in your hand.

As in a separate little box(the rain sensor) or as in the light sensor that is on the backside of the mirror housing? The little sensor on the housing itself is for mirror dimming, not for auto lights, that sensor is built into the rain sensor.

I'm sure it has it. It's wrapped in foam and taped back to the harness.
My problem is the solid black part where the old mirror mount was is right in the way of the sensor, I'm going to try and scrape it off.
Pencil torch it was, just heat the back of the metal holder, it's seems sketchy, but it will start to crackle then it just pushes off. Have a razor blade handy to scrape off the residue while still hot.
I'll post some pics later.

Hi guys,
Just got back In town, I might try to tackle it today. I need to make sure I'm precise in the placement of the mount. Also concerned about how I am going to remove some of the black dots on the windshield to make a clear sight line for the auto headlight/rain sensor module.
I can only think of using a razor blade, unless anyone has some other ideas?
