Default Ideas for replacing ashtray area

I never use the ashtray, cigarette lighter and power port under the HVAC controls, so I’m looking for ideas for that area. I have a 3D printer and considered making a USB charging port but there’s really no need since I installed a double din stereo with Apple Car play and keep my phone plugged in and charging while I drive. I’m going to replace those two blank button areas under the defrost and vent controls with usb charging ports so I’ll be set in that department.

Any ideas would be great!

Do a search on thingiverse for landrover, there is a switch bracket for carling switches that replaces the ashtray.

Thanks! That’s a great idea. I don’t really have any accessories yet but that is an excellent place for some switches

Not available, like the link below. Only posting cause its relevant in another thread right now. You can search and find other makers, below is what I bought and installed. FYI, those "blank buttons" are pretty tight behind them. I moved my AUX input port up front using one of those.

Wow! Yeah that is a lot tighter than I thought. So there’s two parts to that area to deal with. I’d have to see if a USB port would even fit in there. Thanks for the great pictures!

Get a bare PCB mount USB socket and print a holder then glue in position.
