IPOD Player??? HELP!!!
I wanted to play my ipod in my LR3 and never realized how much of a hassle this would be. I have spoken to the dealership and they are extremely unhelpful.
I am looking for something I can use to play my ipod with but it needs to charge the ipod at the sametime. Please let me know if there is anything on the market.
I did search this part: LR004805 and the dealer said you can not control the ipod through the controls on the steering wheel or the regular unit?? Are they wrong? Let me know, thanks.

I'm quite happy with the Belkin Tunebase Direct:

There's an input jack on the back side of the center console that the cord from the Tunebase plugs into. Works great on my 2007 and allows me to have my iPhone or iPod in a convenient place for selecting music, dialing, etc. I plug it into the power port to the right of the ashtray and it stems up from there.

Does it charge the Ipod at the sametime while playing music? Is this tune based off of a FM radio station? Do you have to turn an auxilary thing on?

Check out the specs. Yep, it charges the iPod. No, it does not transmit through FM which is why I like it- it goes direct to the auxiliary input jack for the stereo, which inexplicably is on the back of the center armrest console, but there is no parts removal or modification required. To play the iPod, I just put it in the TuneBase and hit the aux input button on the stereo.
I'll try to post a pic when I get a minute.
Cheers,
Dave

There is a slight volume difference between the input jack and the radio in my 2007 but not significant. It still gets very loud.
