Default Just bought a 06 LR3 - need advice staying on top of maintence

The previous owner just dropped 5k+ replacing the items bellow and has documentation of a pretty impressive maintenance schedule.
  1. air compressor for suspension
  2. front and rear diffs
  3. throttle body cleaning
  4. lower control arms
  5. rear breaks (previous owner gave me new rotors and pads for the front that I'll replace in 5k)
  6. both drive belts
  7. rear driver half shaft
  8. passenger tie rod
  9. sway bar bushings
  10. oil cooler
  11. passenger seat control module and motor

Has 117k but overall in close to mint condition and drives like new. Have noticed a light smell of burnt oil but doesn't seem to be leaking oil at all.

What do y'all recommend for a maintenance schedule based on whats been done so far? Want to mitigate as much as i can!

Really enjoying it so far. And best of all I was able to not buy a minivan for the growing fam.

Stay on top of the diffs. I'd recommend changing the oil every 15k miles.

check your sunroof drain tubes, its gonna save you a huge headache later

check windshield cowl for cupping (should have a tight seal on windshield), it usually gets old and allows water to come in directly over where the HVAC intake is

change both engine and cabin air filters

diffs, transfer case, engine oil change (fluids)

might want to have a spare brake light switch in case yours goes (mine has not but I figure its such a simple fix and a cheap part)

check and or replace the PCV valve cover (oil related), make sure engine has enough oil because I had heard a bad valve cover means your system is eating oil.

Overall not a bad vehicle to work on, I've enjoyed my 3 so far.

You wont see it leaking oil because it stays on the drip pans/protection plates.

you're going to get a lot of great guidance here.

however you need to repair/address any issues right now, do. then you have a baseline from your early weeks of ownership. some might focus on the $$, but now that you own her, just transition into a different kind of truck ownership. better to address and fix now than wait until later.

my family thinks i'm paranoid, but i'd rather spend 2k now to address a specific issue than 4k later to address specific issue and tangentially affected systems.

and please take her off road.

my $ .02

(did you just mention minivan in this here room?)

Not really an inside thing, but yeah. If I said "ditto" that would mean x2 on what the person before me stated. I'm simply agreeing vehemently with rovernoob on everything he said. ...staying on top of repairs even if it means spending a little early instead of a lot late; taking it OFF-ROAD....and disdain for mini-vans. All of it!

Default Brake Light Switch...

Forgive me for asking but the brake light switch seems to come up in a lot of threads... Does the LR3 shut down or cause some major computer malfunction when it goes bad? Or do the brake lights just not work as the name of the switch would suggest?

A fried brake switch causes an HDC and Suspension Fault. It also inhibits selection of any special programs via Terrain Response.
