Keep a 2005 LR3 with 47K miles or trade in on a 2016 LR4?
Just joined and excited to hear thoughts from the experts on what to do. I have a Hunter Green 2005 LR3 SE with 4.4 V8 engine and only 47,000 miles, and I love it! No body damage or rust, a few surface scratches that I'm pretty sure could be buffed out, interior in great condition except for numerous crack in the dash from sun/heat. It had water intrusion from the moonroof, but repair was too expensive and never use the moonroof so I just filled the drain hole with silicone adhesive and no more leaks. Kelly Blue Book gives me a value of only $3000 - $6000, but the closest match that I can find for sale is a 2005 LR3 that has 55K miles, asking $25K! I'm debating selling the 2005 LR3 / trading it in for a 2016 LR4 with the 3.0 V6, primarily for more updated amenities such as navigation, bluetooth, rear view camera, lane change warnings, better gas mileage, etc, as well as no cracks in the dash, and an 11 year newer car. The best one I've found so far is about 60K miles, so 13K more than my LR3 but 11 years newer...
A few questions:
A) What do y'all think my LR3 is actually worth?
B) Any ballpark idea on what replacing the cracked dash on the LR3 would cost?
C) Are there any important distinctions between the 2005 LR3 and the 2016 LR4, in favor of either one? Especially wrt to reliability and issues?
D) I've heard that the 3.0 V6 on the LR4 may be underpowered?
E) If you were in my place, what would you do?
Anything else I should be aware of?
Thanks In Advance!

I have a 2006 LR3 and a 2015 LR4 with the V6 3.0 petrol
my thoughts.
A. I think you could get 6-10K for the LR3
B. Coverlay dash cover is the best option for looks vs. cost. I'm still waiting for someone to put a LR4 dash into a LR3 to verify it can be done, maybe you could be the person do do it.
C. No big issues vs. reliability vs the 2016.
D. My V6 LR4 seems fine. I don't drive fast and don't tow anything
E. Keep the LR3. Paid for, assume. Will last for years if you keep up the small things. Really depends what you want to do with it. I kinda prefer the LR3 for a weekend camping and off roader. The LR4 is kinda too nice of an interior. I like the more simpler design of the LR3.
my thoughts.

Tips on the Coverlay install:
Order a 2nd tube of silicone from Coverlay. The silicone they use is 100% RTV. It's not easy to find.
Glue down the main part and then come back and do the airbag covers a couple of days later.
Duct tape works if painters tape is not holding strong.
Warmer the ambient temperature the better.
