Default Large rear roof glass cracked.

Hi.I just noticed the large rear roof glass of our LR3SE 2006 has cracked..oh brother.
Where would it best to have it replaced..
dealer only ..or would an auto glass place do a good no compromise job on it.
This one lasted since car was new.
Thanks.
I sure hope insurance covers it

Insurance covered mine. Also, I had a good enough rapport with the guys at the dealer that they shared with me where they contract it out to, then I just contacted them directly.

Also, if anyone tries to tell you that the headliner needs to be pulled down or any BS like that, take it somewhere else.

Just for the love of all things Rover, do not go to Satellite Auto Glass if you happen to have one in your area.... Also know that while it is cracked, it may never leak. There are two sheets of glass up there. The inside one may be fine and thus not be a leak issue. So if you dont plan on keep the Rover for a while may not be worth fixing?

Thanks definitely keeping.Ill stay away from Satalite. I hope it doesn't leak till i can get it fixed.cause will soon be doing 5 day a week for two months of doctor visits and need this car to get us there.
By the way..
Make sure you keep on top once or max every other year your PSA blood test to keep an eye on any increases just in case ..(tests results from same lab best) Prostate Cancer happens to one in 7 or 8 men which is like epidemic.Catching it early saves a lot of trouble.Be well.
Thanks again.

Can always clean it and toss some heavy duty clear packing tape over the crack. Much like my third brake light.... lol.

One more thing that attached plastic Antenna like thing up there at the back over the lift door..can a new glass be replaced removing that thing all together cause the cracks seem to originate from there.

The rear antenna on my 2008 came loose so I know a little about this one. It is only glued down to the glass. The antenna cable doesn't go through the glass so I don't know how it could cause an issue with the glass. If the top glass is cracked, you will need it replaced. If it is only the interior glass, you could have a shop but a vinyl wrap over the glass so you don't see the cracks but you will lose the ability to see through the rear sunroofs. Good Luck.

Sorry no, I'm in Washington state, hence the "WA" part of my login name. If I recall correctly, the glass is sold with a little plastic mounting "bracket" for the sharkfin antenna, which is retained from your current installation. My '05 does not so they removed that plastic stuff.
