Default Looking for advice on a good roof rack!

Hey everyone! I'm turning 18 in six days, and I want to get a rack for my birthday. I currently have a 2007 LR3 and Thule ski racks that utilize LR3's rails. But I'm looking to turn my beloved LR3 into a fun off-road vehicle. Just looking for advice on the easiest way to get a cargo basket using my current system or other.

Depends what your look pref, intended use, ability, and budget are:

Cheap and easy way: Smittybilt 40504, and come up with your own bolt/spacer system to mount to factory rails
Cheap but very DIY way: Build a Prinsu style rack from 8020, Cut your own side rails, and come up with your own bolt/spacer system to mount to factory rails
More $$ but easiest/best: Buy an off-the-shelf rack made for the LR3 - bolts right up and should fit great

Lots of info about LR3 specific racks here - search and research
But "easiest way to get a cargo basket" is probably the Smittybilt

I have the full Baja rack....not cheap but it's easy and has a lot of capacity.

I would avoid Voyager Racks for sure.....

Frontrunner is a good looking rack and they make a short version which may be a good fit for you.
Baja is nicely built, might be overkill.
Prospeed would be my first choice due to the very versatile layout system, but it is a full rack.
