I'm a first time Land Rover owner and I've been really happy with my 05 LR3. I've had a minor tailgate problem, and an air compressor problem, but it was all covered under factory warranty. Other than those little hickups my LR3 has been driven hard and put away wet without any complaints. Its reliable on and off road. I would try and get the extended warranty if you can, one less thing to think about. I love it and if I had to do it again I would buy the Land Rover again for sure.

My 05 has 87k and I can't wait to get another one...Yes, there have been issues along the way. It is a vehicle that takes regular maintenance...it goes in every 5k or so, and because I use it seriously offroad, it sometimes goes in more often, usually for some suspension or alignment related issue, because it is my daily driver as well.

It isn't a Toyota...it is a Land Rover, with heritage and capabilities that other vehicles wish they had. However the lore of the vehicle does have its price, and if you are looking for an economy vehicle, look elsewhere.
