Not new to Rovers but I really don't know much about the LR3. I am used to taking care of everything by myself with my other Rovers for little money and no real specialized tools. I am sure the LR3 is much more complicated but can you do brakes, fluids etc pretty cheap DIY?

They are pretty heavy vehicles, so they do go through brakes. The rears have a drum built into the vented rotors, that acts at the parking brake. There are some special steps to adjust the shoes correctly or they can come apart, heat up, and melt the cables that go to the electronic parking brake module. I hear this is an expensive part to replace.

I am a DIY guy and I do find the LR3 to be good for me. We can do all the normal maintenance and many repairs ourselves. I've done the front brakes a couple of weeks ago and I'm doing the rear brakes this weekend. Front was easy - with the only challenge being the wear sensor refitted. I had to go up into the wheel well, which wasn't exactly easy having done it for the first time. I will be searching this forum to find out how to adjust the parking brake when i do my rear brakes this weekend.
I say that the LR3 is a good vehicle for a DIY guy. This forum has always helped me out and I always get the answers I need here.
