Default LR3 Drivers door stuck locked

I have a problem with my 2008 LR3: the drivers door is stuck locked (cannot be opened with the keyfob or via the internal door lock button on the dash either. All other doors work normally with the key and the dash button (although the passenger door is sluggish to unlock and is probably on it's way out too). It seems the drivers door actuator is stuck in the locked position. I have removed the drivers seat, the door card and the speaker and I am now wondering how to release the actuator from inside the door cavity so that I can open the door and then remove the 3 torx bolts to remove (and replace) the actuato? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated guys. thanks

Have you tried the physical key/lock that is hidden in the exterior door handle?

So you say it can not be unlocked with the fob or dash button but you dont mention the lock lever itself on the door next to the handle.

Yeah, no good mate, I managed to get the actuator out now, although I had to take an angle grinder to the door! Lol

Nothing would open or unlock it, The lock lever (next to the inside handle) was also stuck (it would open about a quarter of the way and then stuck there)

I couldn't get the window out with the door closed and without being able to remove the window motor (and the associated panel in the centre of the door) my only option was to cut out a section of the door to access the actuator that way. It will all be covered by the door card once it is replaced anyway so not too bad. Once I cut that section out of the door I could directly see the actuator. I was unable to "un-stick) it so the only way to get it out and get the door open was brute force (I had to smash the actuator with a hammer in order to break it apart and release the door mech so I could open the door). Now I will have to order the new actuator and see if I can manage to fit it back in (at least I can now take out the window and the middle door panel that hols the window motor which should make access easier)

Get a genuine door latch actuator, don’t buy cheap copies. Otherwise you’re doing it all over again in a year or so. 👍
