Default LR3 exhaust

So what are you guys doing for exhaust mine is pretty beat up from off road adventures and I am looking at replacement. Nearly smashed flat at the passenger rear control arm.

Stock, magnaflow, or custom?

I would like more of the Jag V8 sound goodness. The motor has a great noise and I see no reason not to un-cork it.

Love to have your thoughts sound clips or videos

I replaced stock with Magnaflo catback system. sounds a bit throaty at first but a few months later hardly notice it. Got it from local 4x shop in Denver, had a tech party with friends (one friend works in a shop and we used the lift) for install, went well.

I have the stock exhaust minus the resonator and it sounds awesome. I'm sure a magnaflow muffler, no resonator would sound lovely.

I wish I could just modify but my passenger side pipe is pretty well destroyed. I was going under to look at removing the resonators and that is when I found out how bad mine was...

I took out the resonator last year and was very happy, sounded more like a V8, but a few weeks ago I noticed there seemed to be more of a growl and suspected my front muffler was failing and developed a hole. I lived with it for a week as i had no opportunity to do anything to fix it. On the highway it was certainly more droney than before and a little too much for me to live with, but not overly loud. To my surprise when I checked underneath this past weekend both of the flex pipes I installed in place of the resonator back to the rear two mufflers had both totally failed and disintegrated. So those who want to know what its like with no resonator and effectively no rear mufflers - quite a growl, especially in low gear under low rpm and load. At higher rpm quite a howl, but still not offensively so, but just a little too much for me to live with day to day. So new and better flex pipes now installed and - very happy again.

Armyrover, don't notice the pipes hanging any lower than stock. Went off road this last week and did not drag at all. The stainless pipes are taking on a patina with the heat that is going through them. During install it was noticeable that a bit of adjustment was required to make them even on both sides before final tightening of the clamps. Had the rover up on a lift for install, helps to see it all at once from both sides.

I test drove an LR3 that had aftermarket exhaust about a week ago. I liked the sound at first then it got old. Maybe that particular setup was too droney at all times. Plus, I was trying to listen for diff noise so I was annoyed that it was drowned out by the exhaust.
