LR3 Genuine Dash Replacement
#2
$1200-$1400 for the dash and $800-$1200 for the install. Essentially everything from the center console to the steering wheel up to the fire wall needs to come out. It is a time consuming job. Merriam Land Rover sells Land Rover parts online at a discount, but the shipping on the dash will be expensive. Our local dealer almost doubles the MSRP on parts, thank you Land Rover San Diego. Land Rover Carlsbad usually sells the same parts at MSRP. For such an expensive part, you might be able to negotiate a discount. Good Luck, you might consider a coverlay dash cap or a fabric dash cover.

Yours got cracked in PORTLAND???? Do you park it outside?
I think there are definitely things that a person can do to prevent the cracking, but it likely has to start early and it certainly is impacted by geography. I don't want to jinx myself but I have an '05 that I've owned since new, in WA state, and have always kept a nice coat of protectant on it. I park it in a garage and a few years ago put one of those ugly dash mats on the top of it mostly for times I take it out in the woods (protect from dust) or am detailing it (6 hours in the sun). I think that should help. I also have an '06 I bought a few years ago, no cracks....I immediately did the same for that one. Fingers crossed.
