Oh it can do more than that! I think Clarkson got it stuck on purpose, to show the winching and what-not. An LR3 with proper tires piloted by a competent driver can be nearly unstoppable. On the flip side, I've seen drivers make an LR3 look pathetic.

I saw that episode! It did look 👀 ntentional - he made no effort to back up and get unstuck at all. I did enjoy the hill climb though...

...not to mention just blindly plodding right into the giant hole without an effort to bump over it. I doubt he put TR in Mud 'n Ruts, Lo-Range and disabled DSC, either. That is my preferred set-up for most scenarios.

Clarkson has owned Land Rovers as his personal vehicles a lot and was doing this to show off capabilities.

I think his comments about "no other vehicle on earth has been here before" speaks volumes of his respect for it. He's a die-hard Britt, loves his rovers and Jags, but I guess they needed some content and laughs for the episode. If anything it would make the entire episode less believable if he just plowed up the mountain first try with zero issues.

I love these episodes though - watched them a LONG time before I was able to purchase one of these.
