You are correct, but you can go the the factory Land Rover site and get access, there may be a daily fee (save to PC). I believe registered owners get free access to owners manuals. But being a cheapskate I have not looked into it further. See

Because it's a private server and I don't want an endless and expensive stream of downloads, and bandwidth costs money.
It can be frustrating finding it, and getting it off one of the free services but it can be found on one if you do some research.
I was saying, all those links to manuals in some of these posts are not for LR3. So it confuses the reader. I do not know of Chilton or Haynes produce a book or not, but it would be handy if someone did.

If it is a pdf, could it not be saved as an attachment on this site on a post?

You have to be an authorized auto dealer to use this site. Every time I tried to access a document, I got a denied message asking me to login or register.
I suppose I could make something up and call myself XYZ auto. I did not try that.
I have found that links to service manuals on this site either don't work, access is denied, or don't included the LR3.
Stunningly worthless.
