Default LR3 Minimum Wheel Load Ratings

Newbie here so thanks in advance for any support. The load ratings on the 18" wheels from factory appears to be around 2000 LBS +/-. I'm looking to reduce some unsprung weight at the wheels with aftermarket (Konigs or Momo are showing compatible with LR3). However, their load ratings are closer to 1300 LBS +/-. What aftermarket wheels ya'll using to keep ratings close to OEM though reduce weight?

You have discovered one of the reasons most people run OEM wheels.
Some use the Terrafirm steel wheels or put updated styles from other Land Rover / Range Rover models. Someone just posted that they put steel wheels from a 2020 defender. Nice thing about those is you can keep OEM TPMS system if you want.

There are a few aftermarket wheels with the high rating needed. I don't recall the names right off but they are not cheap.

I am sure that someone will come along with a better answer soon enough.

In most any wheel that will have a significantly lighter weight you will be very unlikely to see the load capacity numbers you need. Fully loaded for a off road trip my LR3 has tipped the scales at over 7400 pounds

Tuffant, Moab, Compomotive are just a few of the aftermarket wheels with suitable load rating for the D3/4, i think the stock rims work well enough.

I have both Tuff ant and compomotive and I don’t think there is any significant weight difference between them and stock being honest

Its not about the rim weight but the load rating.

agreed however he was looking to change rims to reduce unsprung weight so I was referring back to his original goal

So....I won't be towing a trailer on my mild off road excursions.....and not hauling 1500lbs of ammo but will have a few rounds ...
I would think forged aluminiums as long as load ratings are around 1600+ LBS should be fairly safe unless I hit an errant jagged rock at high speed....

The Method wheels seem to have 2000+ LBS load ratings though not sure if compatible with LR's. Their website doesn't seem to indicate a match. Anyone rolling Methods?

So with a curb weight of around 5800 pounds that would leave you a working load of 600 lbs. To make that easy to wrap your head around you are maxed out with 4 150 lbs people, no luggage no junk in the trunk, or a box of ammo
