Cool LR3 Radio Replacement... Help

I have a V-6 LR3 with the standard radio (CD-400) which the button's are falling out... I decide to replace with the same year 6 CD Radio (CD-465) that I bought thru eBay...

I manage to install the radio, all plugs plug right into... but I notice that I am missing one (Fiber-Optic's)??? It does power up , but I am unable to change the radio station, nor the Volume works...

Any Ideas?

you have one with an amp. and adding an amp won't work cause you can't add it to the system. it won't read.

I couldn't swear to it, but I also believe you will have to program the vehicle to recognize it as well. I am not sure about the amps.

it will not work with out a good amount of wiring and other componants. the 6-cd system uses a fibre optic MOST ring to transfer audio signals to the amplifier, neither of which your vehicle has.

Augh! MOST(Media Oriented System Transport)! I worked for Mercedes for a year (around 2003) and they used the MOST system. To say it sucked would be paying it a compliment.

MOST is a fiber optic based network that requires that the network be configured to recognize what components are installed. Even if you replace a component in the system, the system needs to be configured to recognize the replacement component.

Even then, since the components were all made by different manufacturers, there were often problems, and the vendors all pointed the finger at someone else.

I would ditch the head unit an get an aftermarket one.

It will work, you need a faultmate and head over to DISCO3.CO.UK - View Forum - In Car Electronics (D3) , ask your question there, they'll point you in the right direction
