Default LR3-SE - want larger tires

I have a '09 LR3 SE with the stock 255 60R18 - it's time for new tires and I want to get a more aggressive set with a larger profile. What is the largest tire I can put on without having issues with the wheel well and without adjusting the suspension? I would like to buy taller tires is possible - possible 255 65 or 70.

Thanks!

I have a 2005 LR3 with 285/60/18 Cooper XST's on it and the only time they rub is when I put it in reverse and turn very sharp. I am looking into putting the 285/60/18 Cooper LTZ on it now.

Good tires but Cooper doesn't make the Zeon XST's anymore so we got the 285/60/18 Zeon LZT's this time. They only rub when you turn very sharp in reverse so I don't see how you could put a larger tire on the LR3 given that. We purchased them at Kauffman Tires and they ran around $178 a piece. I think Kaufmann gave us $100 off all 4 due to a promotion. The LZT is a smooth running tire even though the tread looks aggressive.

hickorychip:
The 285-60R18 is the max you can go without any mod. I had this tire and experienced rubbing mostly in the back when off road. If you are doing moderate trails you will be OK. If you want to be aggressive off road then you should get a smaller tire to allow for more articulation or a rod lift.
