Default LR3 Suspension Noise

Hey There,

I've been having an issue with my front suspension for a good 6 months now.

At low speed, when I hit a pot hole or even do a quick tap of the breaks, I hear a noise. Kind of sounds like metal on metal. It might be happening at higher speeds too, but I just can't hear it.

My steering is still tight and there's no extra play in the suspension from what I can tell.

Separately, my front air springs leak, but they've been leaking for years, so I don't think it's related, but might be worth mentioning.

You guys have any ideas? I'm considering spending money to fix it soon and want to know what I might be getting into.

You need new front lower control arms.

The bushings are worn. You can replace just the bushings, but in my opinion, it's a PITA job unless you have all the right tools, and looking at the total cost (parts and labor) it seems more effective to replace all the hardware. Then you get new/fresh ball joints, too.

Oh, you'll need an alignment afterwards.

If both springs appear to be leaking at a similar rate then is more likely that the valve block is leaking, changing bushes isn't difficult with the right tools and costs under $100 for all 4.
