Do the same on the right.

Remove the flex plate and cam locks. Motor is timed.

I hand cranked the motor several revolutions and all feels good. While rolling, you can see certain points where the chains are tighter and looser I presume from the position of each cam. This is where oil pressure in the tensioners really does its job to keep everything tight.

Front cover and harmonic balancer torqued. Crank spec is 280 ft. lbs. My torque wrench goes to 250 so I hit that plus a smidge.

Would be really easy to get to that oil filter housing adapter gasket. They can leak and I believe the gasket seals both oil and coolant passages. The gasket is basically two o-rings moulded as one. LVF500010 I believe is the part number.

Good call. Local dealer has one in stock. I’m going to go grab it. Thanks!

I forgot to mention earlier, the new idler pulley has rails on both edges. There’s a TSB, LTB00067 4/7/2009, that I didn’t understand until I installed the pulley and it rubbed the bracket. I had to shave a little bit with a Dremel for clearance.
