Default MAF readings (g/s) - help

Anyone with a 3 and an IID tool, can you do me a favor?

I have been running some numbers recently both before and after fitting a safari snorkel (the original idea was to check airflow), and my MAF readings come back between 4.5-4.7 g/s at idle (~800rpm?). Side note: air flow seems to be unchanged .

If convenient, can you guys throw up some live value numbers for me? I typically test after a drive >30min, sitting at idle right before I kill the engine and go inside the house.

Example:
(64F temps outside)
MAF: 4.7 g/s
Intake temp: 64.4F
Engine oil temp: 169.2F
Engine coolant temp: 194.0

D3.uk in their IID tool faq mentions the idle reading:

"Mass air flow g/s - Typical value at idle of 16g/s" (IIDTool Live Values - DISCO3.CO.UK Knowledge Base)

Just wondering if MAF needs a clean or worse.

You should e-mail the folks at GAP. They will have those numbers for sure.

Cheers...and please post their response. That way all of us that have an IIDTool can check the MAF readings periodically and have a clue as to when it may need service.

Yes will do. The few reference values people have collected I would love to see compiled in a PDF at some point. I would laminate that bad boy and carry it everywhere.

MAF readings (g/s) - help-image-4045414332.jpg

This was mine earlier today but I have some DTC p0171 and p0174. I'm interested in what you find out.

Can any IIDTool do this? Or is this exclusive to the BT version?

AFAIK any one can do this, but the BT version outputs the display for that data to a phone/tablet. There should be a section in the main menu tree labeled live values.

Sorry, didn't pay attention to coolant temp, but ambient air temp is 35F here and my MAF reading was 5.8 g/s at idle (after a 30 min drive).

Under Live values, what selection is it? Does it say "MAF?"
