My 2006 LR3 driver side door was repainted and as a result the original manufactorer VIN sticker <lower left bottom inside driver door> was removed. In California it requires CHP to inspect car to make sure it is not a chop shop or parts car when that sticker is missing during biannual smog testing. Does anyone know if you can get the sticker replaced by Land Rover some how? Was going to go to dealer and ask but thought I would start here as you guys end up knowing more than the parts counter.

Well good point but would I go to the trouble of making an account and following this just for a sticker info, ha!! I remember having to wait on key slot with new keys for and early Porsche to be made back at the factory through the dealer. Took months to get a new one with keys. I just figured with title and insurance proof its mine the dealer would just get the LR to make me a new one and let the dealer put in on the door.

 

Surely the VIN number that is visible thru the lower part of the windscreen is enough, anyone can change a sticker.

 

It is a California thing.

 

Closing out the thread here. Dealer can order a new VIN door sticker with proper identification and proof of ownership. The obviously must apply it once manufactorer recreates.
