I'm aware of that, which is why I included the Fahrenheit conversions.

I guess I missed the conversions - thanks for the heads up.

Between the C and F differences as well as pressure plus the Left and Right hand drive data, one has to be awake - guess I was not.

I do indeed have a GAP tool - I was also unaware that it read transmission fluid temp. Looking forward to using that feature! I will have the heat gun too and see how they compare!

thanks!

I'd be interested in seeing how they compare too. Actually, I have a temp gun, so I'll do the same if I get motivated and we can compare.

As far as the IID interface, it's under Live Values, then pretty self-explanatory - transmission - transmission oil temp.

Tempting to get the BT version of the IIDTool. I bought mine when they didn't have the BT version out yet. They ought to do a "trade/upgrade" program; I'd pay the difference in price. Does the BT version connect to any electronic device like an iPhone, laptop, etc? Do you need to have BT in the LR3? Because my 2005 doesn't have BT...

No Bluetooth needed in the LR3. The Bluetooth is only between the IID tool and the display device. However, I don't believe laptops work, so you either need an iOS device or an android device. Rather, I should say that laptops work, but just replicate the gauge cluster display menu, so no fancy graphs or anything like that.

If you're interested in getting the BT version, give Gap a call. Who knows, they might be willing to do a trade-in/trade-up deal. They seem to be very responsive and very helpful and have a great customer service reputation.

Good idea, I'll try it. Issue is that my current device sometimes is unresponsive to the cruise control switches...those may be the culprit but I don't want to be stuck without my IIDTool when I really need it. Does the BT version also work with the switches or is it accessed ONLY through a device?

Works both ways... via steering wheel controls with display on instrument cluster and via device with a nice graphical interface.
