Misfire at start up and random misfire, shakes.
Hi every1
My LR3 usually just park on my driveway and especially the past 2 years. Its 06 LR3 and only got 65k miles on it so you know how little I drive. I got engine lights on for the past 1 month. It also shakes for about first 30min after a cold start. After about 30min, it warms up and it doesn't shake anymore. So I went to O'reilly and have them read my codes. It read misfire at start up and other random misfire after start up. I also saw that I got a warning beep saying "Engine system fault" during highway driving but it still drives. I was afraid it may stall so I just exited to drive on local roads slowly. Today I changed all 8 spark plugs with NGK and cleaned the throttle & MAS and put everything back together. I did a test drive and ya the shaking kinda reduced to some degree but it still gave me the "engine system fault" when I step on the gas more to acerbate. My conclusion now is that I got a bad fuel filter & or fuel pump too. I just want to share these with you guys and see what you guys think? I have NOT checked air leak yet. I think the easiest way to check air leak is to buy a cigar and blow it into the throttle body and where the smoke comes out. Besides those, I don't know what else I should do or test?? Should I start with the fuel filter. I don't even know where that is ??
I found the part for the diesel LR3 and a video on how to replace it too. But mine is regular gas LR3. Does it have a fuel filter?

As Im reading more and more, it may also be the throttle body. I got bank rich or lean codes before too. I forgot to mention. I changed O2 sensor. I did have a reduced engine performance on freeway back in May this year. I just thought that it was cracked heater core and I just used a U shape hose to bypass heater and it has NOT over heat since then and no more reduced engine performance. But of course now I got engine system fault.
It may also be MAS, I guess I will start with a cheaper part such ask MAS, I just order the walker brand from amazon its got 30 days free return so....

Can you read/post the CEL codes?
What are the outside temps when you start the rover?
I wish it was easier to check fuel pressure in these - but they didn't provide a valve.
Side notes: A cigar will not = a real smoke machine. More enjoyable, maybe, but less effective to actually find leaks.
Not sure the off-brand MAF sensor will work - OEM or Denso equivalent is usually what works best.
Pretty sure there is not an easily serviceable/replaceable fuel filter in the 4.4.

The codes are: P0302, P0300, P0316, P0305. And the warning beep for "Engine system fault". Outside temp about 60 F.
Ok go with Denso ? I just order a walker from Amazon & it will be here tomorrow. Lets try and see whats up. If not, I will order a Denso.

So all misfire codes, with new plugs in - I would rule out the MAF sensor and air leak
Agree w/ Houm_WA: check coils (and all wiring to them - fuse block - battery grounds - ECM connections)

Thank you my friends. I ordered just 1 coil to try it out. Its the Delphi brand. I couldn't find the Denso on Amazon. I replaced cylinder 5 coil and viola 90% of shaking is gone already and engine light didn't come on. I feel the power when I step on the gas. I now am thinking replacing the whole set of coils. Is it necessary? Remember I got codes for cylinder 2 and 5 but I think #5 was the worse one so I replaced that one today. Should I just replace #2 and call it a day? Or the whole set ?
Having the same issues , really need to try battery grounds at this point
